With this guided tour we will discover the Capitol, once the seat of the most important and huge temple of ancient Rome: the temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus. The square, designed by Michelangelo with the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, the Palace of the Conservatiori, the Art Gallery, the Lapidary Gallery, the Tabularium with the spectacular view of the underlying Roman Forum and the New Palace will reveal the extraordinary works of art, whose collection began in 1471, when Pope Sixtus IV donated to the people of Rome a group of bronze statues preserved in the Lateran.
